Park City Ski Homes

Park City offers an extensive range of options when it comes to ski homes.  The style of the homes can vary from small, mountain rustic with exteriors and interiors made of log and rustic finishes giving the feeling of living in a modern day “log cabin” to enormous ultra-modern and contemporary with sleek, clean lines and luxurious finishes and the majority of homes falling somewhere in between.  Equally, there is a tremendous range of prices primarily based on location...the closer to ski access the more expensive.

One of the reasons residents and real estate investors chose Park City is that it is home to the premier ski resorts of Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort.  Deer Valley offers ski-in/ski-out homes in Lower Deer Valley, Upper Deer Valley, Empire Pass and Deer Crest while historic Old Town provides ski-in/ski-out access to Park City Mountain Resort and the Canyons Village area has some single-family homes, but the majority are located in The Colony.

A great many of the ski homes in Park City are second or even third homes.  The homeowners spend a couple of weeks a year, mostly in the winter to enjoy the phenomenal skiing and perhaps a bit of time in the summer hiking and mountain biking.  Some homeowners live in Park City during the winter and spend the rest of the year elsewhere, while others chose to spend the colder months in warmer climates and enjoy the cooler summers in Park City.  Whichever way the homeowner chooses to spend their time in Park City this provides the opportunity to offset the property by renting it out on a nightly, weekly or monthly basis.  Ski season will bring in the highest rents, but Park City has become a year-round destination place thus homeowners are seeing rental opportunities increasing during the summer months, as well.  Again, the closer the property is to the ski resort the higher the rental rates.

With the Salt Lake International Airport less than 45 minutes away with plentiful public and private transportation options, Park City is one of the easiest ski towns to travel to and from.  And, if you want to branch out and try a different resort every-once-in-a-while Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, BrightonPowder Mountain, and Sundance are close by.
